When it's late and you don't feel like going to bed... You can always find interesting things to read in this very place!!! I had trouble sleeping last night, so I came here to read, I found this old blog and thought it would be a good idea to bring it back to life!!! lol. (Now I feel like Dr. Frankenstein) Anyway, it went something like this... Quoting Wings_Of_Angels: "I guess I will never understand the need for anyone to be anything other than exactly who they are. Maybe they don't realize that not only do they hurt others, but themselves as well. No matter what you feel the need to omit or lie about, it will always come out in the end. Save yourself the time and hassle and don't play the head games. There are some really great people on this site! It's nice to know that what I expressed above doesn't apply to the vast majority. ;o) I am who you see, no pretenses. As it said on a plaque once given to me 'Your only obligation in any lifetime is to be true to yourself'" Any thoughts?

The best scammers have got to be the Nigerians and they keep on doing it over and over and over again and again...

Jag, I took my comment off...didn't want to be too bias. But I do love the Irish, I m a little Irish too [great Grandmother] as well as Spanish, French Austrian, and of course English. I was born in North London and lived in Chiswick, and Brighton.Heinz 57 variety!... I have still kept my English accent even though I have been in the States a long time.

litenbrite that's interesting because I'm part Irish which is why that would probably have been better put as a Polish joke on an American site.lol But if you're right, about those comments, about women liking the Irish accent, that just shows my luck because mine is a typical London accent being that it was just my nan who was Irish and I'm born and bred in North Surrey not Ireland. But there's plenty of people here who would disagree with you, about being scammed by the Irish charm, who've paid some of the Irish to tarmac their driveway.lol

I have always felt that honesty is the best policy. At least then the people who you communicate with know where you stand. Of course, there are those who are not so 'honest'. Sux completely! "Say what you mean, mean what you say"... As PaulineM said, "in this stage of life, who needs the hassel"... If all I wanted was to play games, I could have found a less hurtful way to do it. Best of luck to all. SMILE, Diane

poetryguy It was probably an Irish scam because they're the only ones who would have tried to scam the Americans using pounds not dollars. But if it had really been £2,000,000 it would have been worth a lot more than $2,000,000.lol

Punchy there's not much point in someone who wants to remain anonymous using a dating site which is 'supposed' to be there for dating. That just defeats the whole object of being on these sites trying to arrange a date. Those people are just as bad,if not worse, than scammers as they just waste everyone's time, and money if anyone subscribes to the e mail service.

At this stage in life, who needs the hassle of someone not being truthful. Eventually if you meet them you will discover the truth anyway. Obviously someone not truthful has no intentions of meeting face to face. What a waste of precious time!

Unfortunately anonymity is what most people enjoy about the internet and even most people that are not scammers per say, still don't use their own pictures and any true information about themselves for whatever reason.

Hello there my friends, I havn't had any scammers for a long time, the support people on here are so good and if you let them know your suspisions, always deal with it right away. I havn't been on here so much as I am communicating with someone I really like, but I still like keeping in touch with you guys. I do love Claudia's blogs, as they always make you think. And this one is good and you are right, why is it people exagerate themselves, if they ever hope to meet someone genuine its silly. With me..what you see is what you get too.

Unfortunately, hidden agendas apply to too many persons on this very site. Not all.Not long ago I got a e-mail in which someone said that I won two million pounds in a random drawing supposedly run by this site. This site do not do that. They wanted me to send my personal information to a address in the United Kingdom.Interesting,as this site is not even based in England and I doubt they even got a office there.A obvious scam of some sort.Of course I reported it and they got rid of these person or persons.Did anyone else here get this scam e-mail?
