In case you haven't heard yet, Ford has approved the production of the 64 1/2, 65, 66, and i think the 67 mustang shells so that people can purchase them and build up a classic mustang. The shells are going to sell for $15,000 a piece and you can by just about all the other parts from their company to fully restore/build it to run on the road. The shells will be made from modern materials, so I imagine they will be lighter => better power to weight ratio.
They are also in the works to get approval for later fastback models, including my personal favorite: the 1969 fastback model. I know that this costs a pretty penny, especially for just the shell, but if you have the dough and have always wanted to have a classic project car, this might be for you.

I used to have a Mustang 5.0 Convertable. Got rid of it as it would slide when brakes were put on. I was Married then My Husband didnt believe me until he was driving one day and he went into the rear of a Toyota....He took it to a Dealership the same day and sold it and bought himself a truck. I just have a Honda CRV Its not Posh, but very reliable.

NG....I think it's a fabulous idea! I worked for Galpin Ford in the San Fernando Valley area of L.A.....since I haven't worked for Mr. Boeckmann since 2006, I'm not sure if he's maintained his #1 status, but while I was there (ironically working at the only GM product store, SATURN) His son Beau was in charge of the "Pimp My Ride" show. The Mustang was a highlighted product in the showroom, and we got to meet Mr. Shelby at a Monday morning sales meeting. That being said, I'll bet this product is the talk of the dealership, and that GAS (Galpin Auto Sports) will continue to pimp that Mustang.

In High School I drove a '71 Dodge Demon Dart.
Cars look the same to me today. I honestly can't tell a Mercedes from a Toyota.
But I do love my MILF GF's BMW.

A one or two year old GM Holden/Pontiac/Vauxhall VXR8 with the LS3 6.2 Litre motor and 6 speed box are probably a better and cheaper alternative. But building a new 390 GT (Bullitt) but with a 427 side oiler with a set of weber carbs or 8 pack injection would be interesting.lol.
Check out the 427 titled '1967 Mustang first burnout' video posted on youtube. In which they did a burnout with it in the garage before it's finished.
