I’m of the mindset that a first date should be a dinner together. I care about manners and how service-industry workers are treated, so I’d like the opportunity to see those characteristics upfront. No ONS please. We dress nicely, I pick you up or arrange a pickup for you. We meet, have a thoughtful conversation without staring into a phone all night. After a wonderful meal, we continue our conversation or end the night, depending on the vibe. No presumptions.

If it’s in London first date has to be a walk along the south bank, exploring what’s going on in the area, popping into the NFT for a coffee, checking out the turbine hall installation in the Tate Modern, then sampling a few goodies at Borough Market, before heading for cocktails and a great meal somewhere on Bermondsey street, or across the river in Soho.
