Meet in a quiet public restaurant, coffee shop and see it's "sparks or friction" then decide about the real first date. Kind of like a TV series, if the Pilot is good, then hopefully there would be a long-lasting season after seasom.

My first "date" with someone would probably be a non-date just getting to know them. If they were nearby, maybe we'd meet at a cafe or a park and go for a walk. If our first meeting was online, we might meet in VR, playing a casual game, or just over video chat.

Today's society, it's best that we meet in a public place where we can have coffee and conversation. If you don't drink coffee, then maybe tea or some other beverage just as long as we get to meet one another in person and enjoy the experience in the moment.

Are you okay with just Starbucks or McDonald's for now? This would be great in my opinion because it's the first date and I don't see any sense to wine and dine if the relationship does not go anywhere. It is that simple. Take it or leave it.

Something casual and in a mutually comfortable environment. Coffee or a walk in the park works for me. I am somewhat of a coffee snob so I prefer fresh ground coffee from a local roastery when available.
