I feel it would be less awkward, and nerve raking to meet in a public place of which we both agree on, such as restaurant, park, beach. A place where we could both be relaxed and talk. I would probably be very nervous because I have never done this, but I am willing to try.

An ideal first date might be an afternoon stroll along the shore, followed by some seafood at Kelley's on the beach in Lynn, sharing french fries with the birds. Other favorites are the causeway along the shore in South Boston, or the 7 miles of beach on Plum Island, where I live. If we bring our swimsuits, we can peel off our clothes for a refreshing swim on a warm summer day.
Wednesday evenings at the MFA, where there are many other attractive things to look at besides each other, is another option. Horn Pond in Woburn is another place for a first date, eating ice cream while circumnavigating the pond, which is encircled by a paved path.
Charles River Esplanade is another great place to meet, walk and talk, although parking is always a problem in that area, especially during those great summertime concerts.
You can probably see a pattern here, as most of my ideas for first dates involve the water! These are just a few, and I'm always open to suggestion.
