On our first date I would like to sit, eat, and chat while getting to know you. Going for a walk around the city or out for drinks afterwards could be in the cards. Let's see where the night takes us.

A candlelit dinner sounds romantic until someone knocks the candle over, the napkin catches fire and someone tries throwing the flaming napkin off the table, knocking over a glass of wine, catching the tablecloth on fire which sets off the fire alarm and sprinklers and there's mass panic, people yelling and screaming, restaurant staff scrambling for the fire extinguisher while patrons call the fire department. Meanwhile, the fire's spread to the table and chairs, the carpet's on fire from the spilled wine and, you know, there's really no way to have a relaxing walk after all that. And that's why I don't drink.

For a first date, I’d keep it simple and comfortable—somewhere we can actually talk and get to know each other. A nice dinner or coffee, followed by a walk and maybe checking out a new place together sounds perfect. I’m also open to something more fun and spontaneous, like trying a new restaurant, exploring the city, or watching the sunset.
For me, the location matters less than the company and having a genuine connection.
