Anywhere that we both agree on. Can be lunch or dinner out as I hate eating alone. Coffee or a drink might be fun. Concert or movie what ever we are comfortable with.

I tend to be pretty dominant in a relationship when it comes to day-to-day stuff but as a first date, I usually like to do something that my date is interested in so I can learn more about them. Things or hobbies that make you happy or something your passionate about that you'd want to share. That would also mean that you would have to plan it so surprise me.

I think it would be nice to just stroll somewhere pretty we can talk and see things, and sit for a while and plan on a meal somewhere nice, maybe somewhere neither of us has been before so we can find "our" favorite spots?

A first date should be memorable, since you only get one chance to get it right. Also it should be creative enough to allow sufficient time to learn about each other, but offer several opportunities to shorten it without hurting feelings if you are not compatible. On this first date there are no subjects that are taboo. This is the time to let each other see the inner person.Here is my idea of a first date:
Spending an afternoon at the local Botanical gardens touring, chatting and taking pictures or videos of each other as these might be long term memories that need captured.
If we like each others company, then a trip to your restaurant of choice, where we enjoy a nice meal, the ambiance and most importantly each other's company.
If we still want to continue, then off to a play, musical, opera, symphony that we can get tickets at the venue or out dancing.
And finally, go somewhere for a cup of coffee and more chatting or say good night, and reflect upon the day.

I'm not really up to par on this dating site thing and I haven't dated in a long time, but,,,,,, I guess my idea of a first date would be that we both agree on whatever we decide to do and it would be a pleasant time together, maybe a nice dinner somewhere but whatever we chose we'll enjoy each other

Meet at a nice place for drinks and talk for a bit to see if there is any mutual attraction and interests. If things are going well, we have a fine dinner, get to know each other even better. Maybe a nice walk after dinner, arm-in-arm, while gazing at the moon and stars.
And after getting comfortable with each other and if the relationship grows, then we can have quiet nights snuggled up on the sofa watching movies and TV, nights on the town wearing tantalizing undergarments that only you and I are aware of, and spontaneous acts of romance that will make you see stars and feel like a princess.
