First date? A bicycle ride on a beautiful day, an ice cream cone @ Sebastian Joe's, swimming and barbecue, then maybe an evening diversion thought out and created by both of us. I think for a first date as well as most things that involve two people both should be involved in the planning. Of course unless it is a suprise...

1. Walking on Whyte Ave, popping into a shop to browse, grab a hot chocolate or tea, checking out Chapters, and maybe shooting some pool.
2. Going to the library and reading kids' stories to one another.

a good first date would be going for a walk on a scenic trail or through a park. then head out to grab a bite to eat. as we get to know each other we let out interests plan the rest of our evening. maybe we go see a movie or just go somewhere to watch the stars.

My standard answer would be a restaurant or bar where we can casually talk to exchange our thoughts and get to know each other better. But, I also feel that being outdoors walking in a park or along a beach or even exploring a museum or art galley together, is also a great way to get to know someone.
