An ideal first date might be an afternoon stroll along the shore, followed by some seafood at Kelley's on the beach in Lynn, sharing french fries with the birds. Other favorites are the causeway along the shore in South Boston, or the 7 miles of beach on Plum Island, where I live. If we bring our swimsuits, we can peel off our clothes for a refreshing swim on a warm summer day.
Wednesday evenings at the MFA, where there are many other attractive things to look at besides each other, is another option. Horn Pond in Woburn is another place for a first date, eating ice cream while circumnavigating the pond, which is encircled by a paved path.
Charles River Esplanade is another great place to meet, walk and talk, although parking is always a problem in that area, especially during those great summertime concerts.
You can probably see a pattern here, as most of my ideas for first dates involve the water! These are just a few, and I'm always open to suggestion.

A good dinner at a good restaurant (my good may not be your good, so we talk about where we've been and what we enjoyed), some good wine, talk about our lives, if we get along and you approve we go out in the park/forest or the back of my minivan and begin knowing each other better.

I think before we decide to date we should meet at a public location like Starbucks to get better acquainted with one another. After that, providing we strike up an interest in one another of course, a dinner date would be nice at a nice Restaurant say by the Chesapeake bay. I am a Romantic and I love romantic settings, candle light and moonlight over the water.

My idea for a first date would include some time shopping or antiquing, followed by a simple picnic, somewhere in a peaceful woods next to a stream or waterfall, some pleasant conversation and a nice bottle of wine.

Meet up and have a "Be Your true self" conversation - no judgements, no conditions, except mutual respect and expressing yourself is the basic theme. Be willing to be exact about meeting, because sometimes people show up in the wrong place and time, and believe they other person cancelled out, when all it was just a lack of communication.
